5 thousand-year-old paint palette found


 In the excavation of Küllüoba, which has been going on since 1996 in the Seyitgazi district of Eskişehir, a 5 thousand year old paint palette made of stone was found.


Efforts are underway to bring to light the history of the region, where uninterrupted settled life was lived for 1600 years during the Bronze Age between 3500-1900 BC.

This year, a team of 30 people from Çukurova, Batman and Hacettepe universities led by Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University (BŞEÜ) work in the excavation initiated in Küllüoba Mound in line with the permissions obtained from the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums.






Traces of the Bronze Age are sought in the mound, 350 meters long and 150 meters wide, located 15 kilometers northeast of Seyitgazi district center.

In the studies to the east and west of the mound, it is estimated that the 5 thousand-year-old palette found in one of the houses of the period was used to paint the bowls.
