1. Kaleici

With its central location and historical texture, you can write Kaleiçi at the top of your list of places to visit in Antalya.

The origins of the region date back to the Hellenistic period and it also includes structures from Seljuk and Ottoman times. While spending time here, you can also visit cultural venues and evaluate entertainment opportunities.

While walking the narrow streets of Kaleiçi, you can have the opportunity to see the most beautiful examples of Ottoman civil architecture in this geography. Some of the buildings have been converted into boutique hotels. In some, cultural venues such as the Suna-İnan Kıraç Museum , cafes, restaurants and souvenir shops operate.

Apart from visiting museums and art galleries, you can also show interest in historical places. Hadrian's Gate and the Yivli Minaret, which I will tell you about in the following parts of the list, are among the places that shed light on the rich history of the region.

When it comes to entertainment, you can turn to two different options, respectively. First of all, you can get the opportunity to observe Antalya from different angles by getting on the excursion boats departing from the port, which will impress you with its scenery. In the evening, you can relax in the bars in Kaleici.

2. Duden Waterfall

When it comes to Antalya, colorful nightlife and beaches come to the fore. However, I think that the natural beauties hidden in the inner parts of the city should definitely not be overlooked. In order to emphasize this aspect of the city, the first place I will tell you is Düden Waterfall .

The waterfall takes its source from the Düden Stream, where Kepez Hydroelectric Power Plant is built. In the place called Düdenbaşı , it is divided into two. Therefore, you can head to two different points to witness the fascinating beauty of Düden Waterfall first hand.

Generally preferred by travelers visiting Antalya for the first time, the Yukarı Düden branch displays all its beauty in thevarsak district, which is about 11 kilometers away from the city center.

In this place reminiscent of paradise, you can easily go down to the lower parts of the waterfall through the passages and get great angles to take pictures. This place has also been converted into a promenade.

The Lower Duden, on the other hand, meets the deep blue waters of the Mediterranean near Lara. This branch of natural beauty is also known as the Watermelon Lifter.

The view created by the water pouring from 40 meters is priceless in my opinion. Especially if you are here close to sunset, you can enjoy the exquisite view much more clearly on the viewing terrace.

Visiting Hours: 08.00-18.00Entry Fee: 5 TL3.

3.Kurşunlu Waterfall

When you turn left at the 24th kilometer turn on the Antalya-Isparta road and proceed for 9-10 minutes, you can reach Kurşunlu Waterfall , another natural wonder .

The waterfall, which was granted the status of a nature park in 1986, manages to deeply impress nature lovers with the rich vegetation surrounding it and the rock forms that have formed over time.

The nature park, located in the center of the waterfall, which you can easily reach by taking the public transportation vehicles departing from the city center of Antalya, covers an area of close to 6 thousand decares.

Obviously, this area has been very well evaluated. Because instead of focusing only on the waterfall, you can have a much more fun time than you think by taking care of different activities. You may even have the opportunity to visit a few interesting places.

In this wonderful conservation area within the borders of Aksu district, you can go on a camel ride and get to know the environment in detail. If you want to be in touch with nature and examine the rich flora and animal diversity more closely, you can head to the hiking trails.

Of course, don't forget to have your camera with you, regardless of which option you choose. Because, apart from the fascinating view created by the waterfall pouring from 18 meters and the scenery you will encounter while you are walking along the tour routes, pleasant surprises such as the historical water mill and the cedar trees that have taken root in this region for centuries are waiting for you.

4.Antalya Museum

When you turn your route back to the heart of the city, you can give priority to visit Antalya Museum , where you will have the opportunity to get valuable information about the origins of the city .

The cultural facility was established under the leadership of Süleyman Fikri Erten in order to prevent foreign archaeologists from plundering historical artifacts during the period when the city was occupied by the Italians.

The museum operated in the Alaeddin Mosque in Kaleiçi for 50 years following its establishment in 1922. It was moved to its current location in 1972.

Facility; Dedicated to the civilizations of Lycia, Pamphylia and Pisidia. Of course, when the number of artifacts preserved in its body approached 30 thousand over time, the time period in which the cultural facility focused expanded from the Lower Paleolithic Age to the Roman period.

The ancient remains found at the excavation sites in the region are exhibited in 11 halls arranged according to different themes.

In one of the exhibition areas in the museum, ethnographic objects from the Ottoman period are presented to the attention of the visitors.

5.Konyaalti Beach

After completing your visit to the archeology museum, if you head towards the seaside from Atatürk Culture Park, you can reach Konyaaltı Beach , which many travelers add to their list of places to visit in Antalya to enjoy the sea .

There are two stories that are frequently told about where the name of the beach, which covers the 7-kilometer coastline between the cliffs and Antalya Harbor, came from.

In the first of these, it is said that the name of the beach is derived from the word " under the bay " because it is located just below the cliffs . In another, it is mentioned that the area where the soldiers gathered during the Ottoman period was called Konyaüstü . Rumor has it that the local people started to refer to the coastal part below this area as Konyaaltı over time.

Regardless of where the name comes from, the beach certainly gives its guests the opportunity to cool off during the summer days of Antalya, which is famous for its heat. For this, if you wish, you can choose the 4.5 kilometer free section. There are also paid sections on the beach for those looking for alternatives and a variety of services.

After spending the whole day enjoying the sea, you can sit in one of the cafes just behind the beach to suppress your hunger. In these venues, live music is played after a certain hour in the evening.

6. Hadrian's Gate

Hadrian's Gate , one of the most important symbols of Antalya , was built in 130 to celebrate the arrival of Emperor Hadrianus in the city and to impress him.

The gate, which is one of the most popular historical structures in Kaleiçi, allowed entrance to the city from the port side for a long time.

The historical artifact, which the local people call the " Three Doors ", has survived to the present day without much deterioration, since it remained within the walls over time. In fact, some additions were made to the upper part of the north tower during the Seljuk period.

The building reveals all the splendor of Roman architecture. The door, which has three transition points supported by round arches, is supported by Corinthian marble columns. In order to make its appearance much more impressive, it is decorated with carvings and reliefs.

7. Yivli Minaret

After the gate, you can turn your route to the Yivli Minaret , which is the first Islamic period monument in the city . Adding splendor to the Kaleiçi district for centuries, the minaret was built by the Seljuks in the 13th century.

The minaret, whose pedestal was made of cut stone and whose body was built with bricks, has a height of 45 meters. The name of the mighty structure, the visuality of the body part of which is enhanced by turquoise colored tiles, comes from the eight grooves included in its design in accordance with the architectural understanding of that period.

The minaret, like itself, is located in the complex, along with a number of structures from the Seljuk period. Among these structures, the Yivli Mosque attracts the most attention .

The structure is considered to be one of the oldest of the multi-domed mosques built in Anatolia. Another remarkable part of the complex is Zincirkıran Mehmed Bey Tomb, which is now used as a fine arts gallery.

Located to the east of Konyaaltı Beach, Antalya Aquarium & Fear Trophy offers different experiences to all its visitors, from seven to seventy, through its thematic areas.

Because when you visit the facility, you can not only expand your knowledge about marine life, but also enjoy the snow in the middle of the city even on the hottest days of summer.

In order to experience this pleasure, it will be enough to spare time for the most extraordinary part of the facility, the Snow World and Ice Museum . The 1,500 square meter area, where the temperature is fixed at -5 °C, includes igloos, cafes and St. Nicholas' House .

The aquarium section, which is the main reason why visitors show great interest in the facility, consists of four thematic areas with a total capacity of 7.5 million liters. Each tank here is decorated to fit their theme and is quite adequate in terms of biodiversity.

After spending time in the aquarium, you can focus on visiting Wildpark , which brings the wildlife of the rainforest to Antalya, and the Face 2 Face Wax Museum , where you can take selfies with more than 50 famous names .

Karaalioğlu Park , where I stop by at least one evening every time I go to the city and enjoy the open sea view , is one of the biggest green areas in the center of Antalya. You can easily reach the park in the south of Kaleici on foot or by taking the tram.
